Afterthoughts

One-Minute Writer gave me a cool idea for a blog post—what would you like your gravestone to say? Of course, I’d like it to be something profound and meaningful, but in reality it’ll probably say something like, “Whoops—didn’t see that there!” or “Mind the gap!” (I fall down and run into things a lot.)

Actually, now that I think about it more, I prefer the amusing to the profound. So, I’ve decided to post a list of amusing and unique epitaphs, for your reading amusement.

Here lies the body of Emily White,
Who signaled left and then turned right.

Jonathan Grober,
Died dead sober.
Lord, thy wonders never cease.

Sir John Strange:
Here lies an honest lawyer,
And that is Strange.

What would you like on your tombstone?

Mine will probably read something like this:

Regan Black -
Tripped over the dog
while feeding the cat.

Not so original, I know:
Iris Black-
Forgot her book
And then went back.

Btw, Disney's Haunted House attraction has a great assortment of these punny gravestones...
